One man found shot in parking lot of Waffle House

One man is receiving treatment after he was found shot in the parking lot of a Greenville restaurant, police say.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were called to the Waffle House on 820 South Memorial Drive around 4:15 Sunday morning.

Police found a 32-year-old man in a car with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Sgt. D. Blanchard says he was transported to Vidant Medical Center where he underwent surgery but his current status is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing. Police believe this was not a random shooting. They have developed leads in the case, but they're asking anyone else with information to come forward by calling (252) 329-4315.
