BOLIVIA, N.C. (WECT) – Brunswick County lottery winner Marie Holmes will be featured on the OWN Network’s self-help series “Iyanla: Fix My Life” in September.

Holmes won $188 million in 2015 and initially made headlines for spending much of the winnings bailing her boyfriend, Lamar “Hot Sauce” McDow out of jail.
McDow has since pleaded guilty to drug charges and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The Marie Holmes Foundation sponsored a back to school drive in Whiteville earlier this month that provided backpacks and school supplies to 300 children.
Holmes also donated $680,000 at the end of 2015 to the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church located between Shallotte and Ocean Isle Beach.
Iyanla: Fix My Life will return September 10 with an emotional four-part, multi-week episode when spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant invites eight women to move into a “House of Healing” to dispel the myth of the “Angry Black Woman.”
Holmes is one of those women.
